Exotic cars will be fueling automotive fantasies again this year at the Ottawa Gatineau Internatonal Auto Show. Every year the public identifies high end sports cars, supercars, and hypercars as one of the most popular attractions at the Auto Show, so this year organizers are partnering with Casino du Lac Leamy to bring you “AUTO EXOTICA”.

For 2020 the headline vehicle in the “AUTO EXOTICA” collection will be Canada’s Supercar, the FELINO CB7R. This car is the brainchild of a champion race car driver Antoine Bessette. With the optional 700-horsepower engine the FELINO CB7R can reach a top speed of 345-kilometers per hour. That top speed is limited by a computer. The car can also accelerate from zero-to-sixty miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds. The FELINO CB7R will be on display in a place of honor at the top of the escalator on level 3 where everyone will have a chance to see it.

Just around the corner from the FELINO CARS exhibit you will find luxury brands like LEXUS, and Jaguar. Jaguar has an SUV with performance figures rivaling Supercars. The F-Pace can be ordered with a 700-horsepower engine. SUV’s are hot right now, and Maserati is focused in that area too with the Levante, and SUV that offers extreme luxury and and engine choice that can put over 500-horsepower under the hood.

The Supercar exhibit most anticipated each year though is the Lamborghini display on level 2, and this year’s collection of Lambos will not disappoint. The Lamboghibi URUS is the world’s first true SUPER SUV. It offers SUV practicality but has the heart of a Supercar with an engine that produces 610 horsepower. That power is transferred to the road through an 8-speed transmission.

The highlight of the Lamborghini exhibit though will no doubt be the Aventador SVJ. This is a car that takes technology to an extreme. The SVJ comes with a V-12 engine that produces 752 mind blowing horsepower. Yet all that power is refined, and tamed with an overall design that cuts through the wind. The aerodynamic shape of the car pulls air into ducts to cool the engine and brakes, while at the same time creating down force to keep the car firmly planted on pavement at high speed, and when we say high speed we mean it. The SVJ has a top speed of 251 kilometers per hour. This is a car that looks fast just sitting still and it is a must see at the Auto Show.

The LOTUS EVORA GT take a different approach to performance, by shedding weight. It tips the scales at just over 3100 hundred pounds, which means its 412-horsepower engine is more than enough for Supercar performance. The EVORA GT accelerates from zero-to-sixty miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds. It may not be as fast on the straight and narrow as some more powerful cars, but the EVORA GT makes up for it in the corners with handling that is truly world class. Lotus has a legendary reputation for making cars that handle well, and the EVORA GT simply carries on that tradition.

You will find other Supercars and Exotics spread through the Auto Show. We will see the newest offerings from Lexus, Acura, and hopefully the new mid-engine Corvette.
